In a written announcement from the Municipality it is stated that "the couple William John and Linda Elizabeth Dyer and Barbara Brown and Valerie Bray from Britain, were honored as "Tourism Ambassadors" in a ceremony held today, Thursday, July 21, for their thirty visits to Ayia Napa ».
It is added that "the Municipal Secretary of Ayia Napa, Fotos Kikilos, awarded the 4 Britons the plaques with the Municipality's highest distinction and expressed warm thanks, on behalf of the Mayor and the Municipal Council, for their multiple visits to the area".
He also mentioned that "today's award is the minimum honor for them, because" as he explained "their numerous visits play a decisive role in the promotion and advertising of the tourist product of Ayia Napa, since it is done in the most practical and convincing way".
