The 14th Medieval Festival of Ayia Napa begins today

Tonight begins the great artistic event of the Municipality of Agia, the 14th Medieval Festival of Ayia Napa.

A written announcement of the Municipality states that the Festival will open its gates at night in the area of ​​the Central Square in front of the Medieval Monastery. The inauguration will take place at 8 tonight by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Savvas Perdios.

For eight days, until October 19, "citizens, locals and foreign visitors alike will join knights, acrobats, princesses, dragons, witches, fairies, fairytale heroes and great Cypriot and Greek artists." to travel to the Middle Ages ".

The streets and places around the Medieval Monastery “have been decorated with medieval flags of the participating countries, while during the Festival there will be exhibitions of Medieval masks, jewelry, ceramics, hagiography, medieval armor, handicrafts outside the Monastery , medieval dresses and others ”.

The Festival will be attended by more than 25 music and dance groups and groups from Russia, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Germany, the Czech Republic, Belarus, Ukraine, Venice and Cyprus, which specialize in music, dance, theater, various habits and activities. of the Middle Ages.

Concerts with Greek and Cypriot artists will be given during the Festival and Manolis Mitsias will start tonight. Tomorrow, Sunday, a concert will be given by Cypriot artists Tassoula Kalenou and Kouli Theodorou.
