The YKAN police officer described the moments of Tzionis' arrest in Ayia Napa frame by frame, who testified today about the case.
Before the Criminal Court, the police officer serving in YKAN, in the free Famagusta - Ayia Napa section, described how he was led in the footsteps of Tzionis and how he ended up arresting him in the bar, of a well-known hotel in Ayia Napa, on Nisi Avenue.
He had initially received information from a specific foreign informant who stated, after first seeing a photo of Tzionis, that he had seen him in an apartment in a central area of Ayia Napa.
The policeman in question had been charged, according to him, following instructions from his boss, to locate Tzionis after first receiving information that the suspect in the double murder was probably in the area. Under cover, police placed the apartment in the center of the area under discreet surveillance.
Tzionis was finally spotted at the hotel bar with Sarah Siams. The police officer immediately informed his superior to inform him of the reasons why he would proceed with his arrest. Tzionis was arrested and in his presence, his vehicle was sealed and taken to the TAE Headquarters in Nicosia.
According to what the YKAN police officer said, a member of the Famagusta YKAN team accompanied Tzionis. They were there, as he said more about "company" since Tzionis felt more intimacy with them, as he had confessed to them, than with the TAE investigators.
The next prosecution witness will be decisive, according to what was reported during the procedure before the Criminal Court, after the person in charge who handled the telecommunications data of all the suspects involved in the case will testify.
