They are completed on Sunday, January 21, 2018, five years since the departure of the late Mayor of Ayia Napa Antonis (Naki) Tsokkou, Grand Benefactor of our Holy Metropolis. The annual memorial service will be held at the Holy Temple of Panagia in Ayia Napa.
The distinguished Mayor was a strong supporter of the diverse work of our Holy Metropolis and a member of the Throne Committee. The Diocese of Constantia and Famagusta, as a sign of honor and gratitude, proclaimed the late Mayor of Ayia Napa Antonis Tsokko Mega Benefactor of the Social Diakonia Foundation.
Curriculum
Antonis Tsokkos was born in Ayia Napa in 1953 and studied accounting and shipping in London. Upon his return to Cyprus, he focused on the tourism industry. He was twice elected Mayor of Ayia Napa, the second in 2011 with a percentage of 77.72%. He was married to Emily Tsokkou and had two children, a daughter and a son. He worked hard to improve the potential of free Famagusta to attract tourism from abroad and sealed with his contribution and actions the development of the Municipality of Ayia Napa.
