"Group rape": Postponed to August 27

The 19-year-old British woman was brought before the Famagusta District Court again today for a case of gang rape, a case which she reported on the 17th of last month, that according to her allegations she was the victim of gang rape by 12 Israelis in a hotel room in Napa.

The young woman was represented by a new lawyer, Nikoleta Charalambidi, who asked for the case to be postponed so that time could be given for her to be examined. A letter was also sent to the Attorney General for approval of a request for representation by a British Lawyer.

It is recalled that in the previous hearing on August 7, the 19-year-old's lawyer submitted his resignation, disagreeing with the way the whole case was received, especially in the foreign media, after complaints from the family and friends of the accused that she was pressured by the Police to change her deposit.

The 19-year-old is now charged with the crime of public harm, which carries a prison sentence of up to one year or a fine of up to one thousand seven hundred euros.

Over .22.500 XNUMX in online fundraising

In fact, the family of the 19-year-old has started a fundraising through an online platform to cover the amount of legal expenses with an initial goal of 15 thousand pounds. This goal was far exceeded when hundreds of people had contributed several thousand euros. In fact, a woman from Israel paid the amount of seven and a half thousand pounds.

At the moment the target has risen to χι 50 and so far .22.500 515 has been raised by XNUMX people from around the world.

Recall that 5 of the 12 Israelis were released on July 25 and on the 28th of the same month the remaining 7, since nothing incriminating against them emerged after the voluntary testimony of the accused that her complaint was false.

However, she now speaks about pressures exerted against her by the Police for changing her testimony, a complaint that the Police categorically denies.
