Ayia Napa

The first cruise ship at the berth of Ayia Napa Marina is a fact

A milestone day for Ayia Napa Marina on Sunday 29 May as the iconic naval destination in Cyprus and the Eastern Mediterranean welcomed the first cruise ship.

The state-of-the-art C / V SEADREAM II, which is cruising in the Mediterranean, coming from Haifa, Israel, anchored safely at the berth of Ayia Napa Marina on Sunday morning. The passengers and the crew of the cruise ship were welcomed by representatives of the Ministry of Tourism, the Municipality of Ayia Napa as well as the Administration and the staff of the Marina, with a simple welcome ceremony in Cyprus and at the Marina facilities. Then its passengers had the opportunity to visit various attractions in the free area of Famagusta. The cruise ship departed the same night for Rhodes with crew and passengers having received excellent impressions from the beauties of Cyprus as well as from innovative and high-end services and the hospitality provided by the Marina of Ayia Napa.

The hosting of the first cruise ship in the Ayia Napa Marina was successfully completed with the contribution of both well-trained Marina staff who offered disembarkation and embarkation services in accordance with all the prescribed measures and with the contribution of the Republic of Cyprus services (customs, port, customs ). Equally important should be the contribution of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works as following his request the port area was created to host cruise ships in the area. It is worth noting that the arrival of the cruise ship opens a new chapter for excursion tourism as the passengers of the C / V SEADREAM II made excursions outside the coastal zone knowing the beauties of the free area of Famagusta and getting a taste of the traditions, customs and local products that will be the best advertisement for our place.

The Director of the Marina, Mr. Costas Fytiris, stated: “After three years of painstaking efforts until the marina berth is officially approved, one of the main goals of the Ayia Napa Marina becomes a reality. Multiple benefits not only for the Marina but also for the whole free area of Famagusta. In addition to the beauties of the beaches, the Municipalities and communities of the area are now given the opportunity to highlight the traditions, customs and local beauties. "The Management and the staff of the Marina are very proud of this development and we will do everything possible for the continuous economic development and progress of the whole free area of Famagusta."

Designed with the service of the owners and crews of boats of all sizes in mind, Ayia Napa Marina is an official port of entry in the Republic of Cyprus and as the only certified marina in Cyprus according to the ISO 13687-1 standard. It offers services and facilities of top quality, equal to those of international scope.
