On Friday, February 3, 2023, between the Municipality of Deryneia and the company Paraskevas Eleftheriou Contracting & Developing Ltd, the Contract for the creation of a Municipal Library and Study and Culture Hall "Adam Adamanos" was signed.
The project concerns the renovation of an old building located in the traditional core of the Municipality, transforming it into a modern multi-purpose space for study and cultural events.
The project aims to provide an impetus to the area for development and to create attractive living conditions since it will have all the necessary supplies for research, intellectual cultivation, upgrading the quality of life in an area that is developing in conditions that are not at all favorable, due to unresponsiveness and semi-occupation .
By creating this innovative and unique library, the Municipality of Deryneia aims to provide services to the entire population of Famagusta District. With the long-term goal of creating a University Campus in the new Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia, the project will be the beginning of a new period in the field of education and training.
The project has been included in the "SEA" Operational Program of the 2014-2020 programming period of the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund.
