Organized hunters in the province of Famagusta staged a peaceful protest today. The reason for the protest is the recent imposition of a ban by the United Nations in an area within the Dead Zone of Deryneia which was used for training hunting dogs.

The organized hunters gathered at the site of the Dead Zone in Deryneia, peacefully expressing their protest, and then handed a letter of protest to a representative of the blue helmets demanding the lifting of the ban in the area and the smooth conduct of the training. March 1.
Among others, the President of the United Cypriot Hunters Movement, Nikolas Prodromou, the ELAM MP Linos Papagiannis and the Presidents of the Hunting Associations of Paralimni and Deryneia attended.
