Paralimni: Handcuffs on a famous "monkey" diving instructor

According to the Police, on December 22, 2017, a permanent resident of Cyprus was reported to the Famagusta Police Department from Moldova that between July and October 2017, a 41-year-old man from Nicosia with false representations withdrew the amount of 1200 euros in cash.

Specifically, according to the complaint, the 41-year-old withdrew the money from the complainant, stating that she is a diving instructor and would rent equipment for his clients, thus earning money from which he would give her a share.

However, the 41-year-old then stopped answering the complainant's phone calls and did not hand over any money until today.

Meanwhile, on December 23, 2017, a resident of Ayia Napa, a resident of Ayia Napa, complained to the Famagusta Police Department that between September and November 2017, a colleague at a hotel in Ayia Napa extorted money from him on various occasions, claiming that his father had a serious health problem .

The same person then demanded money from him, claiming that he would use it in his own diving business in order to return the money he owed him and an additional profit.

In total, the 41-year-old withdrew from the complainant the amount of 15 thousand euros in cash.

According to the complaint from last November, the 41-year-old changed his phone number, as a result of which the complainant lost all contact with him.

At the last meeting they had, the 41-year-old handed over to the Bulgarian a written statement stating his name with a false surname and that he owed him the amount of 15 thousand euros.

The complainant was later informed by the hotel's accounting office of the real name of the suspect against whom a warrant had been issued and was wanted.

Just before noon in Paralimni, the 41-year-old from Nicosia, was arrested under a warrant for the offenses of securing goods with false representations and forgery and was taken into custody.

The suspect is expected to be brought before the Famagusta District Court today for a detention order.

The case is being investigated by the Famagusta Police Department.
