The Lifeguard Team of the provincial administration was alerted at noon on Friday following information about a man who had been swept away by the wind while on a surfboard in the sea area of Protaras.
Specifically, according to information from FamagustaNews, around 2:15 in the afternoon, a 35-year-old man who was on a beach in the area of Kapparis, was swept away while on a surfboard. The man was 700 meters away from the coast and because of the winds he was unable to get ashore.
The members of the lifeguard team of the Famagusta Provincial Administration were immediately notified, who went to the scene with a jet sky and took the 35-year-old to the shore.
The 35-year-old is in good health.
