Boat with 75 immigrants in Protaras - 39-year-old arrested

Around 10 p.m. Yesterday, accompanied by a member of the Port and Maritime Police, a boat carrying 75 migrants arrived at a fishing shelter in Protaras.

It was found that they are 51 men, ten women and 14 children, of whom three are unaccompanied.

To facilitate the investigation, in connection with an investigated case of assisting a third country person for illegal entry into the territory of the Republic, a 39-year-old man, who was also on the boat, was arrested with a warrant and detained at dawn today.

The migrants were transferred to the reception center for illegal immigrants in Kofinou.

The examinations are continued by the Famagusta TAE.
