Five thousand "trees of hope" from the Giovani group

Five thousand "trees of hope" will be planted throughout the province of Famagusta by the Giovani group until the symbolic date of March 21, 2020, which is World Forest Day.

This is another social action of the group during which the executives of the organization but also large groups of volunteers and local organizations will participate in the planting of trees, thus giving the message of the need for green consciousness.

Specifically, open letters of invitation have already been sent to all the town halls of the province of Famagusta in order to achieve an organized campaign with the participation and support of all local agencies to indicate the locations and areas and the already trees that can grow quickly in local environment.

"The planet is going through its most critical test as our actions have burdened the environment to a great extent, creating tragic consequences," said the group's executive director, Antonis Antoniou.

He went on to say that the environmental crisis is now a fact and that it is our new reality which we can no longer ignore. It is a sad fact, said Mr. Antoniou, that through our daily life we ​​unconsciously destroy the environment around us. Unfortunately, he pointed out, it is not just the planet we are destroying but our own lives. "The planet, he said, will continue to exist for millions of years with or without humans, and what we need to worry about is, he said, how we can achieve our survival without abuse."
