The Minister of the Interior, Nikos Nouris, is expected to inform the Council of Ministers today about the devastation caused by the unprecedented and particularly heavy rainfall that caused flooding in Paralimni, Ayia Napa and Larnaca. Due to the torrential rains, many properties have been flooded and damaged.
Teams from the provincial administrations of Famagusta and Larnaca went to inspect and record the damage in order to make a comprehensive assessment of the damage suffered by private individuals and citizens. Subsequently, the assessment will be put before the Council of Ministers, which will decide the amount of aid provided by the state.
As the Minister of the Interior Nikos Nouris himself mentioned, priority will be given to residences, specifically to first residences.
