A 32-year-old Greek Cypriot from Xylotymbou was placed in custody until the trial before the Criminal Court of Famagusta, which was set for 3/4/24.
The 32-year-old faces charges of attempted murder, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, psychological abuse of a woman, harassing stalking, behavior causing harassment, menacing, carrying a knife outside a home, carrying a weapon to incite terror, disturbing the peace, disturbing the peace and acts with intent in causing grievous bodily harm crimes which were committed on 29/2/24 in Xylotymbou.
Specifically, during the above period, the 32-year-old moved to the 33-year-old's house in Xylotymbou and illegally tried to bring about her death by dousing her with a flammable substance, i.e. gasoline. He also allegedly dragged her out of her home by pulling her hair and after pulling out a knife he made threats against her life causing her to panic. From the attack, the 33-year-old suffered abrasions on different parts of her body.
