The Holy Synod decided to refer the two monks of the Holy Monastery of Saint Avvakoum in Fterikoudi to a six-member Synodical Court.
It is noted that the two monks were summoned by the Holy Synod and they refused to attend. In particular, they tried to call the two monks once by phone and three times by text, but it was not possible to locate them.
The representative of the Holy Synod, in his written statement, called on the faithful to remain calm without being scandalized and to denounce what they know. He noted that "the Holy Synod is determined to bring about the purification of the Church".
The session focused on the examination of witness material and evidence.
The charges are against two monks and concern issues of managing the finances of the Monastery, as well as issues of a moral nature.
In the initial stages of the investigation, the two monks had admitted guilt, but a few hours later their lawyers denied what they saw in the public light.
