Presentation of the book "SAVE MY VILLAGE 1920-2020": The author was moved "today, we honor our grandfathers" (PICTURES)

The presentation of the book "SOTIRA TO CHORIO MOU 1920-2020", one hundred years of memory, by Mr. Fanis Paraskevas was held yesterday Thursday, December 28, 2023 at the Social Welfare Center of Sotira municipality.

This is the first book written about Sotira, which records the daily life of the people of the village, the lifestyle of Sotira's ancestors, the occupations and other interesting information about the village.

At the presentation, the author of the book Mr. Fanis Paraskevas, the mayor of Sotiras Mr. Georgios Takkas, the municipal councilor Marios Adamou and the journalist Dimitris Dimitriou spoke.

The author in his speech moved the audience and his family "today, we honor our grandfathers, today we honor our grandmothers, today we honor our parents who died. Time flies, the years are lost, together with the history of some events of our country". "I decided with my poor education, to write in the hope that, they will be needed by the scholar of the future for a study, more complete about the History of our Chorus".

The Mayor of Sotiras presented Mr. Paraskevas with an honorary plaque, in honor of his Book but especially for the great legacy he leaves to the Citizens of Sotiras.

The journalist Mr. Dimitriou handed over an honorary plaque with the inscription: "Fanis Paraskeva, University of Life, EXCELLENT Degree" where he was applauded by all present.

Then the event closed with music by the grandson of the author of the book Panagiotis Paraskevas and Theofanis Theofanous.
