Perhaps the most optimistic news in recent weeks is that coming today from the Referral Hospital. An elderly couple who were being treated for coronavirus managed to defeat the virus and were discharged.
This is a moment that brings smiles and causes optimism to prevail in the difficult fight against the invisible enemy. The moment when an elderly couple, 90 and 87 years old, managed to win the battle with the coronavirus and was discharged from the Reference Hospital where they were treated for the last days. In the exclusive shots provided by ANT1, the hospital staff excitedly says goodbye with tears in their eyes and warm applause:
When they were found to be positive for the virus, they were transported for treatment, mainly due to their age, to the hospital in Famagusta, where they managed to emerge victorious from this difficult battle. They spent all these days together, in the same ward, holding hands and taking care of each other and both together giving courage with their example and words to the staff of the hospital. The only nod they asked from the nurses was to gaze at the sea of occupied Famagusta.
Their strength and courage are a shining example for those who are giving these days the difficult battle with the invisible enemy and their gratitude is the best balm for the staff of the hospitals who daily spend every bit of their strength in the sacred duty of caring for the sick.
