The legendary band from Famagusta reunites after (so many) years in Protaras (PHOTO+VIDEO)

Guided by history and the people who made Famagusta famous in the world, the Municipality of Famagusta honors the legendary band "ISADORAS"

Themis on guitar, Kokos on bass, Antonis on keyboards and Louis and Lambros on drums, aim to take the audience on a journey through the 70's nightlife in Famagusta.

The event will take place on Saturday, September 17, at 20:00, at the Di Capilla restaurant in Protaras.

A few words about the band:

Their musical career began in Varosi.

It was the ultimate band of Cyprus, known even outside the borders of the island.

The lovable Isadoras gave another note to the night life of Famagusta.

It all started in '69 when Themis Themistokleous met Koko, Antonakis and Vasos Violaris in the army.

They were the only musicians in the army and formed the orchestra that played for the officers. There they created Checkmates. When they completed their term, the group disbanded and created a new one with Koko Nikolaou, Antonis Dimitriadis and Loui Filippou.

The Isadoras were looking for a name for the new band. The British agent who took them on, co-owner of the night club "Peroke" in Famagusta, was inspired by their name, after they learned that in Spanish it somehow means "lovable".

The four musicians were adored by the public. Themis on guitar, Kokos on bass, Antonis on keyboards and Louis on drums.

Initially they appeared in "Peroke", but they soon opened their own store near the Municipal Market. In the center was their name "Isadoras".

From Monday to Saturday it was inseparable. For the youth they had become the number one band.

But apart from the Cypriot audience, the tourist audience, especially the Scandinavian one, also loved them. The Isadoras were handing out "free entry and free first drink" signs to travel agents, and Scandinavians were swarming the shop.
