Vrysoules: AKEL Famagusta honored the heroes of '74 with wreaths and honors

The District Committee of AKEL Famagusta and the organizations of the Popular Movement of Famagusta on the occasion of the black anniversaries of the coup and the invasion hold every year a modest ceremony at a monument in the free area of ​​Famagusta.

This year the ceremony took place in the community of Agios Georgios Vrysoules Acheritou at the Monument of the Heroes of 1974.

Wreaths were laid on behalf of AKEL and the Popular Organizations, DIKO and EDEK, the President of the Community Council and the relatives of the heroes.

"For all the children of the Cypriot people who gave their lives for the defense of the Republic and Freedom of Cyprus, this annual and due tax of honor and memory alone is not enough. Above all we owe them an honest promise that their sacrifice was not in vain. That the twin imperialist crime of 1974 against Cyprus will not be justified.
