Premiere in 2017 for the new BMW X7

BMW will also build the new X7 at its plant in Spartanburg (USA), which will hit a new platform, have a 7-seater layout and will be launched in 2017.

According to official announcements by BMW, the company's facilities in California (Spartanburg) will increase vehicle production by about 50%, as $ 1 billion will be invested by 2016 in this plant. In particular, in addition to the BMW X3, X5, and X6 that are being built there, now the production of the new X4 is also starting, while in the future the new X7 will be built there, which is expected to enter the markets at the end of 2017 or early 2018 to opposite the Mercedes GL.

In more detail, the new X7 - from the electronically processed image we received exclusively from our spies - will have a very dynamic style, with a large grille at the front and strong ribs on the hood and sides of the body. Also, from the information we gathered, it appears that the large German SUV will have a 7-seater arrangement of seats, while it will step on a new platform of the company, on which the new 7 Series will be based, as well as the next generation of the 5 Series.

Finally, in this context, the statements of the head of the BMW factory in California, Norbert Reithofer - who stressed at a special event for the launch of the new X4 - that he is very happy that "his" factory will build and the new large SUV -X7- of the German company.

As for the engines of the new model, rumors say that it will have 6-cylinder, 8-cylinder and 12-cylinder gasoline engines and 6-cylinder diesel engines, with a possible choice of the new 3-liter triple supercharged diesel that will deliver 3 PS and 386 Nm of torque. Finally, the information indicates that a plug in version is not excluded.
