Cyprus ranks 31st on the corruption table

According to the non-governmental organization Transparency International, the Nordic countries occupy the first places for another year as the most transparent countries, while the most corrupt countries in the world are North Korea and Somalia.

Cyprus is tied for 31st place with Botswana, Puerto Rico and Portugal. In other words, he remains in the same position and did not manage to recover the 29th he had in 2012.

Number one on the slide is Denmark (92 points), followed by New Zealand in second place, followed by Finland, Sweden, Norway and Switzerland. However, no country managed to get the absolute 100 and more than two thirds of the countries in the world got points below the base (50). Cyprus scores 63.

Germany (12th place), Britain (14th place), Japan and Belgium in 15th place and the USA in 17th place are also high in the transparency ranking. The "emerging" economies of Brazil, Russia, India, China, Mexico, Indonesia, Nigeria and Turkey are shown on the map.

The destabilizing effect of the bloody conflicts has brought down a number of countries in Africa and the Middle East. The most corrupt country, along with North Korea, is Somalia, while in the last 20 places are Iraq, South Sudan, Afghanistan, Sudan and Syria.
