Hemiskoumbria is one of the most important satirical hip hop bands consisting of: Dimitris Mentzelos, Mithridates and Rector. The name of the band is an incidental term which, as they state, characterizes the man who can and does maneuver in difficult times, like the "mackerel".

They were friends for many years and wrote lyrics for what bothered them around them. In 1995, when they met Michalis Papathanassiou from the band Goin 'Through, they decided to enter the discography. Hemiskumbria met on the radio show of D.M. on SPACE FM in 1992 and they started singing together in 1993. Mithridates is also a very good cartoonist. Hemiscumbria has a label of its own called IMIZ BIZ ENTERTAINMENT which has brought together rappers such as Dr.Dreez (1997), the Crab Dinosaurs (1999-2001), Etsi De (2001-2005) and Klikaria (2000). Hemiscumbria has done many concerts and many appearances on CDs of other singers

It is the first Greek hip hop band to make gold and platinum records while in 1999 the famous American company DEF JAM (Beastie Boys, LL Cool J, Anthrax) gives its label to a European band for the first time. Hemiscumbria were used in a cd rom that talked about earthquake prevention and recently in a non-smoking cd rom with the track "Pafa poufa to tsigaro".
