The agreement brings three years of labor peace to the hotel

The Minister of Labor, Zeta Aimilianidou, has been accepting the leadership of the hoteliers 'associations, STEK and PASYXE, and the hotel workers' unions, PEO and SEK, on her proposal since yesterday.

The proposal is expected to ensure the smooth operation of the industry for a period of three years, the renewal of the collective agreement is envisaged with effect from March 1, 2016 and expires on December 31, 2018.

In particular, the proposal provides for the following arrangements:

- legalization of 15 holidays (as in the case of leisure centers)

- gradual increase of the Easter tip by 15%, 20% and 20% for the years 2016, 2017 and 2018, respectively. This is a restoration of a right, since with the special agreement (which was concluded by the parties and expired in 2013), the unions had accepted a reduction to 7,5% from 30% provided in the then contract

- increase in contributions to the provident fund by 5% per year, from the 3% provided for in the special agreement. And this regulation partially restores a granted right. The regulation will be included in the regulations on the operation of hotels

- gradual reduction of the percentage of deduction from the unit (right of service), to make up for losses in crockery. From the current 17,5%, in 2016 it will be reduced to 13%, in 2017 to 12% and in 2018 to 10%. A reduction in the deduction rate is an indirect increase in the employee's salary. The regulation will have a legal framework and will be included in the regulations on the operation of hotels

- Sunday work: when an employee works up to two months a month is considered to be within his / her regular working hours and will not be remunerated additionally. If he works a third Sunday then he will be paid extra

- adjustment of days: two 24 hours a week will be granted, with the employer reserving the right to suspend one. Free time or monetary compensation will be granted for the suspended days in a ratio of 1: 1.

Within the next few days, the collective bodies of the hoteliers and the trade union movement will meet to evaluate the proposal and then will give their written answer to the Minister of Labor.
