The new framework for access to universities (table)

The Ministry of Education is promoting the restructuring of the access frameworks to the Higher and Higher Education Institutions of Cyprus and Greece.

The apocalyptic table that follows, with all the proposed changes, is the last piece of the puzzle for the complete abolition of the Unified Lyceum.

See the table

Find out what the courses will be examined per field of study, based on the proposed plan, which is expected to be implemented in three years from today.

In particular, the plan of the Ministry provides for the implementation of the new access frameworks, from the school year 2017-2018, when the current seniors of the Gymnasium will complete the XNUMXrd Lyceum.

The new access system was sent to the stakeholders for an exchange of views. It is estimated, however, that the scope for modification is limited.

Based on the proposal, the examined courses for the university faculties remain four and for the TEI and AXIK three. What changes dramatically are the compulsory examinations per field of study.

As it seems, an effort is made to make a greater connection between the examined courses and the field of study that a student wishes to follow. This, however, will, for better or worse, significantly limit the range of choices of each candidate.

Besides, it makes sense that for specific disciplines, there are no elective courses, but four compulsory ones.
