Citizens of North Korea, Chad and Venezuela have been banned from entering US territory by the US government as part of a new anti-immigration ordinance that also applies to nationals of Iran, Libya, Syria, Yemen and Somalia.
Sudan has been removed from the list of countries whose citizens are barred from entering.
The new ban, due to take effect on October 18, follows a review of Trump's original ordinances, which have been challenged in US courts.
The additions of North Korea and Venezuela widen the scope of the ban, which initially targeted predominantly Muslim countries.
"North Korea does not cooperate with the US government in any field and does not meet the conditions regarding the exchange of information," the US government said in a statement.
Iraqis will not be barred from entering, but will face increased controls.
The current entry ban, which took effect in March, expired on Sunday night, and a little earlier, the US president told reporters about the entry ban: "the tougher the better."
Following the announcement, Trump tweeted: "Making America safe is my number one priority. We will not allow those who can not make a complete security check to enter our country ".
The US Supreme Court is scheduled to consider on October 10 whether the current ban was discriminatory against Muslims and therefore contrary to the US Constitution.
