The anti-tank gunfire of the Turkish occupation army is due to the explosions that were heard yesterday and today in Deryneia.
A written announcement of the Municipality states that "the deafening explosions that were heard yesterday Saturday and today Sunday, from the area of Monastiraki, next to the occupied beach of Deryneia, are due to anti-tank gunfire by the occupying Turkish army. "These shootings continued until the afternoon."
According to the announcement, "the Municipality of Deryneia did not receive any information from the United Nations despite the repeated calls of the local authorities in order to reassure the people, who contacted the Municipality to be informed about the explosions that started yesterday".
The Mayor and the Municipal Council of Deryneia "called on the people not to worry about the explosions", noting that "the Municipality will take all the necessary actions to all the competent bodies for not being informed about the shots fired by the occupying Turkish army" .
