Record tourist revenue for Cyprus in July

Revenues from tourism reached new record levels in July 2017, recording an increase of 5,8%, while revenues of 15,3% were recorded in the seven months of 2017.

July 2017 is the best month of all time, both in terms of revenue and arrivals (531,030).

Based on the results of the Traveler Survey of the Cyprus Statistical Service, revenues from tourism in July 2017 amounted to € 425,7 million, compared to € 402,2 million in the corresponding month of the previous year, recording an increase of 5,8, 10,1%, when the increase in arrivals in July reached XNUMX%.

For the period January - July 2017, revenues from tourism are estimated at € 1.422,1 million, compared to € 1.233,4 million in the corresponding period of 2016, recording an increase of 15,3%.

Reduction in per capita expenditure

Moreover, according to the data, the per capita expenditure of tourists for July 2017 amounted to € 801,63, compared to € 834,25 in the corresponding month of the previous year, recording a decrease of 3,9%. The per capita / per day expenditure of tourists for July 2017, compared to July 2016, also decreased by 5,9%.

In July 2017 there was a decrease of 4,2% in the per capita expenditure of tourists from the United Kingdom (from € 922,67 in July 2016 to € 883,70 in July 2017), a 5,8% decrease from Russia (from € 862,44 to € 812,43 this year) and a 6,2% increase from Israel (from € 669,94 to € 711,39 this year).

Per capita / per day tourist expenditure from the UK decreased by 4,2% (from € 85,43 in July 2016 to € 81,82 in July 2017), per capita / per day tourist expenditure from Russia decreased by 15,9% (from € 93,74 to € 78,88) and from Israel also decreased by 3,5% (from € 133,99 to € 129,34).

The average length of stay was 9,9 days, slightly increased from 9,7 days last July.
