Second round of licensing of the Cyprus EEZ

The expression of interest competition starts: In the coming weeks, Nicosia will announce the second round of licensing research in the offshore plots of the Exclusive Economic Zone of the Republic of Cyprus, said the Minister of Interior, Neoklis Silikiotis. After his almost two-hour meeting with the Cyprus Technical Technical Chamber (ETEK) at the Ministry of Interior, Mr. Silikiotis said that he informed, among others, the newly elected ETEK Council on energy and gas issues.

Asked about the issue of the second round of licensing for exploration in the Exclusive Economic Zone of Cyprus for hydrocarbons, Mr. Silikiotis said that "we are planning to announce soon the second round of licensing, ie the tender for expression of interest and I think in the coming weeks we will be able to announce ".

According to the minister, "preparations are being made to prepare the proposals and the documents" and "a group of experts will be announced soon, who will advise the government on these issues".
