Farmers are registered

For the first time, the creation of a Farmers' Register is underway

A way to separate professional farmers from those engaged in agricultural activity as a second profession was found by the government, which is creating a register of farmers and agricultural holdings…

The proposed legislation was submitted to the Parliament during yesterday's plenary session by the Ministry of Agriculture. Via
The law attempts to create a database that will include personal data, as well as the holdings of all natural and legal persons, including cooperatives that are professionally engaged in the production of agricultural products. The database is necessary to make available all the necessary information for the decision-making and targeted exercise of the Common Agricultural and Agricultural Policy of the Ministry of Agriculture.

This is the first time that an attempt is made to secure the agricultural profession through the creation of a relevant Register. The Parliament is called to find the golden section in relation to the Register that will be created due to the difference that exists between the government and agricultural organizations.

Agricultural Organizations insist on the position as a right of registration in the Register in the case of legal entities to have only those whose shareholders could be registered in the Register as natural persons.

The Ministry of Agriculture, on the other hand, considers that legal entities whose main activity is agriculture should not be excluded from the possibility of registration in the Register.

BENEFICIARIES
The following can be registered in the Register:
(a) Natural persons who paid contributions to the Social Insurance Fund as self-employed farmers.
(b) Natural persons who do not pay contributions to the TKA as farmers and engage in agricultural activity in a community located at an altitude of 500 to 799 meters and their annual income does not exceed the amount of € 20.000.
(c) Natural persons who engage in agricultural activity in a community located at an altitude of at least 800 meters and their annual income does not exceed the amount of € 25.000.
(d) Natural persons engaged in the primary production of beekeeping products in a community located at an altitude of at least 500 meters.
(f) Natural persons who retired before 1994 and continue to engage in agricultural activity.
(g) Legal entities under private law and cooperatives, which were registered in the Register of Employers of the Social Insurance Services, with declared activity in agriculture.
