"At this juncture, I can not see Varosia completely moving away from the overall debate," said Ms Tsolak, who added: "If there is any hope of resolving the problem, removing (at this stage) Varosia would be counterproductive. "
Regarding Turkey's role in the talks, Ms. Tsolak said: "Turkey does not intervene, does not try to manipulate or (try) to be part of the broader content discussed between the two leaders."
According to Ms. Tsolak, a new, promising situation has been created in the Cyprus issue. "The current situation is promising. There is a positive climate in which active, frequent and constructive negotiations take place. "As far as possible, convergence is ensured," she said.
According to Ms. Tsolak, in the new period, like the Greek Cypriot community, the majority of the Turkish Cypriot public supports the solution.
In the property chapter, Ms. Tsolak urges both sides to take a realistic stance. "There are rulings by European courts that say property rights must be respected by returning, exchanging or compensating," she said.
Finally, on the issue of guarantees, Ms. Tsolak emphasizes the following: "We can not assume that nothing will change. If we are talking about 1960 guarantees this does not mean that (the guarantee system) should remain the same or be abandoned. I think we are looking for something in between ".
