"The Department of Civil Aviation is examining three other applications for the issuance of an airline certificate submitted by Cypriot companies," said Mr. Michailidis, speaking to KYPE, without mentioning names due to the early nature of the process.
The TPA is currently examining the applications and submitting additional questions, he added.
According to Mr. Michailidis, after the concession of the AOC, the request will be transferred to the Air Transport Licensing Authority at the Ministry of Transport, which he chairs, for the granting of a commercial air transport license.
It is noted that Tus Airways, a company set up by pilots of the former Cypriot Airlines, which has already started its flight program in mid-February, has already received the required permits.
At the same time, Mr. Michailidis stated to KYPE that the Ministry is examining applications from foreign companies for flights to and from Cyprus.
Without mentioning names, Mr. Michailidis limited himself to stating that "there are many requests that are being considered".
