According to the Occupied Territories, the Ministry of Tourism announced that the pseudo-state participated in the Reiselivsmessen 2016 exhibition in Oslo between 15 and 17 January with the aim of promoting the Scandinavian market and had meetings with travel agents from these countries, as well as from other European countries, airlines, tour operators and other travel agents. A relevant announcement of the "ministry" notes that the pseudo-state participated for the first time in this exhibition.
The pseudo-state has its own booth at the big CMT tourist exhibition in Stuttgart, Germany, which lasts a week and ends on January 24. The opening ceremony was attended by the "Minister" of Tourism, Faiz Suciuoglu, who was there and had meetings with travel agents from different countries.
The pseudo-state also participates in the Vienna tourism fair "Ferien Messe 2016".
Faiz Suciuoglu, according to Havadis yesterday, said that the terrorist attacks in Turkey also affect tourism in the pseudo-state as there are no direct flights but through Turkey. To mitigate the effects, he said, they have already contacted tourism officials in Turkey and also discussed the issue with the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of Cyprus, Tugrul Turkes. They also had a meeting with the Turkish Minister of Tourism, to whom they explained the difficulties they face, he added.
He also mentioned that they also met with travel agents in the "south", so that tourists who visit the "south" - as he said - also visit the "north". Their target in the "south", he added, are Russian tourists.
