A protest event for the EAC is organized by the Consumers' Union

A new protest event for the high price of electricity is organized on Saturday afternoon, at the entrance of Ledra Street, by the "Pancyprian Union of Consumers and Quality of Life" (PEKPOIZO) and the other cooperating social networking groups "End at Ato" "A Voice according to the EAC"…

"The event is held to keep warm our demand for change for the better of the EAC, for the abolition of its monopoly practices and mainly to demand the reduction of VAT on accounts from 17% to 5%," the union said in a statement.

It is also stated that the "state (Government and Parliament) will be required to take immediate decisive measures to prevent the EAC from unconstitutional practices of imposing tax on tax and VAT on services that do not offer e.g. the extraordinary charge of 6,96% imposed due to Marie ”.

During the event, the collection of signatures will continue, the number of which so far amounts to over 3500, as mentioned.
