Murder of Alki: Eight arrests - Two more people are wanted

Authorities made two more arrests for Alkis's murder in Thessaloniki on Sunday night, with the total arrests today reaching eight.

Initially, the police had proceeded to the arrest of four people, aged 19 to 22, all of them leading members of the PAOK association, while later, with new updates, they raised the total number of those arrested to eight.

Two more people are now wanted, after arrest warrants were issued for ten people in total. Among those still wanted is the 20-year-old who allegedly fled to Albania.

Thus, together with the 23-year-old who was arrested a few days ago, the total arrests so far for the murder of Alkis amount to nine.

The latest police announcement:

Following the two previous announcements issued by our Service and concerning the arrest, under relevant warrants, of six (6) people, who are involved in the case of the murder of a 19-year-old, which took place on 01-02-2022, in the area of ​​Charilaou, it is announced that two additional Arrest Warrants were executed.

In other words, two more people were arrested, as involved in the aforementioned case.

Investigations are ongoing.

At the same time, Albanian media published the details of the 20-year-old, who allegedly participated in the case of Alkis's murder.

The Albanian news website Top Channel has published photos of RD showing the 20-year-old tattooed on his thigh. This is the number "1926" which refers to the year of founding of PAOK.

According to the media, the 20-year-old normally crossed the border of Krystallopigi with his Albanian passport, as he was not wanted until Saturday morning.

Gazeta Shqip wrote that the 20-year-old "arrived by car at the border station and crossed into Albania, while his documents were checked by the Greek and Albanian authorities".

Revista One, in turn, giving the identity of the suspect writes that it is "RD, the 20-year-old that the Greek police has declared wanted".   

"According to the Greek police, RD was able to escape to Albania on February 2, less than 24 hours after the murder of the 19-year-old. He passed normally through Krystallopigi, and in fact with his Albanian passport, because he was not wanted until Saturday morning ", the report adds.

"The 20-year-old's name became known on Saturday afternoon in Greece and probably by Monday morning his photo and other data about his life are expected to be handed over to the Albanian authorities to proceed with the extradition process," it added.

According to the Albanian Express, the Greek police "are watching the accomplice in the murder of 19-year-old Alkis".

"The 20-year-old arrived at the border station by car and crossed into Albania. "His documents were checked by the Greek and Albanian authorities," the statement added.
