Very strong forces of the Fire Department are fighting the flames in Dadia Evros, in order to contain the fire that has been burning since yesterday Thursday in a dense pine forest.
Firefighting forces have been reinforced. They operate 291 firefighters and 65 vehicles, 9 teams of infantry departments and 8 aerial vehicles – 4 aircraft and 4 helicopters.
Within the day it is expected to assess the situation regarding how far the fire has progressed in the National Park
The three fires in Ilia are limited. They are confined to Traganos and Varda, while the situation in Agnada has improved.
In all three areas, strong firefighting forces, consisting of approximately 180 firefighters with more than 60 vehicles, are still working and will continue throughout the night to bring the fires under full control.
