Tsavousoglu's visit to Washington has been postponed

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoλουlu's visit to Washington scheduled for March 19th has been postponed, according to a spokesman.

The postponement of the Turkish Foreign Minister's visit to the American capital follows the replacement of Rex Tillerson at the US State Department.

The representative did not justify the postponement of the visit.

Tsavousoglu said yesterday that he hopes to build good relations with the new US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo.

He noted that the new US Secretary of State should respect Turkey after the escalation of tensions in the relations between the two countries, for the policy pursued by Ankara in Syria, but also other issues.
