A man threw his car into a crowd of protesters in Seattle on Sunday and then shot and killed a protester who asked him to stop when his vehicle stopped, according to police and a video taken by an eyewitness.
Seattle police said firefighters rushed the man to the hospital and said he was in stable condition. No one else was injured, police said. The suspect appears in the video to get out of his car as protesters begin to surround him. He holds something that looks like a gun, runs through the crowd and surrenders to the police.
The incident contrasts with the mostly peaceful protests that took place over the weekend over the death of George Floyd last month at the hands of Minneapolis police.
