Biden's refusal to declare Russia a state sponsor of terrorism

US President Joe Biden ruled on Monday that Russia should not be added to the US administration's list of states it says support terrorism, as requested by the government of Ukraine after the Russian military invasion of its territory began on February 24th.

The Kremlin has warned that such a move would lead to the severance of bilateral diplomatic relations.

Asked by a reporter at the White House if he thinks Russia should be added to the blacklist of states that support terrorism, Mr. Biden answered simply "no."

Recently, some members of the American Congress have been lobbying for the Ukrainian request.
