Denmark: The government will announce the lifting of all Covid restrictions

Danish Prime Minister Mett Frederiksen is expected to announce tomorrow the lifting of all restrictions on COVID-19 by the end of this month, according to today's Jyllands-Posten article.

Denmark eased restrictions two weeks ago after a month-long lockdown, allowing cinemas and music venues to reopen, but some rules remain in place, such as limited restaurant opening hours and mandatory mask use.

Citing various sources, JP said the change is based on the recommendations of a panel of experts who also recommends removing its categorization. COVID-19 as a disease that poses a serious threat to society, which has allowed the current restrictions.

The newspaper reported that Fredericksen is expected to make the relevant announcements tomorrow night in a briefing for journalists. Her office declined to comment on the report.

Denmark recorded 40.348 new cases yesterday, compared to 47.831 on Friday. The number of coronavirus-related hospitalizations increased to 894, the highest in a year.

From the peak of 82 patients with COVID-19 in intensive care units on January 6, their number is steadily decreasing, reaching yesterday 43.
