When teachers in Spanish schools found that their students were being disciplined for appearing in skirts or being bullied for homophobic insults for wearing anime T-shirts, they decided to take matters into their own hands.
The "Clothes Have No Sex" movement (#LaRopaNoTieneGenero) was started in November by math teacher Jose Pinas, when one of his students was expelled and forced to see a psychologist while wearing a skirt at school.
Months may have passed, but the teacher's move came to the fore again, as Manuel Ortega and Borja Velazquez threw off their pants and wore skirts. Their act was not accidental at all, as they saw one of their students being bullied. Ortega said he was "terrified" by the relentless teasing that prompted him to work with Velasquez to promote tolerance, wearing skirts.
"A school that educates with respect, diversity, mixed education and tolerance. Dress as you wish! We are participating in the #clotheshavenogender campaign ". According to the teachers in "El Pais", since they appeared in skirts, they have seen a remarkable positive change in the behavior of their students.
