"Show the same sensitivity in Turkey as you do in Ukraine," Erdogan told a news conference in Ankara with Kosovo President Biosha Osmani.
Referring to the situation in Ukraine and Kiev's request to join the EU, the Turkish president noted:
"They applaud [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelensky in the European Parliament. Very nice. So it took a disaster to do that. "Αλλά But Turkey will not expect a catastrophe."

"We appreciate Ukraine's efforts to join the EU. But I say this to the EU members: I wonder what you are still worried about if Turkey joins the EU," he said.
Recalling that his country is also NATO member, Erdogan asked:
"Why do not you give the necessary military equipment to Turkey? "Will you put Turkey on your agenda when there is a war against it?"

Turkey has been a candidate for EU membership since 1987.
Erdogan, who maintains good relations with both countries, blamed the EU and NATO last week for "a lack of decisive action" over the war between Russia and Ukraine.
Tonight, he called on both countries to immediately end the war and "contribute to world peace", adding that Ankara is not opposed to NATO enlargement.
