The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a telephone conversation with the Russian president Vladimir Putin. During the conversation, Erdogan and Putin agreed to hold the next meeting of the Russian and Ukrainian negotiating teams in Istanbul.
The situation in Ukraine and the negotiation process in the Russia-Ukraine war were discussed at the meeting. During the communication, Erdogan stressed the need to achieve a ceasefire and peace between Russia and Ukraine as soon as possible and to improve the humanitarian situation in the region. He stressed that Turkey will continue to contribute in every possible way to this process.
According to Russian Vice President Vladimir Medinsky, who heads the Russian delegation negotiating with the Ukrainian side: "Today, in the meetings held with the Ukrainian side via video conference, it was decided to hold the next round face-to-face on March 28-30." .
