The most horrific rape case in history: 400 men sexually abused a 16-year-old

Police in western India have arrested at least seven men following a shocking complaint by a 16-year-old girl who claims she was raped by hundreds of perverted men.

The horrific case highlights the unbridled problem sexual violence in the country, adding another link to the chain of heinous crimes against women.

In his complaint to the Child Welfare Committee of India (CWC) on 11 November, the unfortunate girl, who was homeless, it's mentioned that was raped by 400 people in the Beed area of Maharashtra.

In fact, according to CWC President Abhay Vitthalrao Vanave, the 16-year-old named two police officers.

"The young woman was begging at a bus stop, when three men allegedly forced her to have sex" clarified and noted that, although the exact number of perpetrators is difficult to confirm, the victim could identify at least twenty-five.

According to Vanave, the minor had tried to file a complaint with the Police against a man for beating, but they never recorded her.

For its part, Beed Police, although declining to comment on the 16-year-old's allegations, told CNN that they were investigating cases against eight men, including a minor, for rape and protection law. of children from sexual offenses, which provides for stricter penalties. A case has also been opened under the law banning child marriage.

The 16-year-old claimed to the police that she married a 13-year-old man at the age of 33, who sexually abused her, according to the announcement of the Police.

The fact that she was sexually assaulted by her own father, as a result of which she left both houses, finding "shelter" at a bus stop where she slept, intensifies the feeling of horror.
Women's rights activist Yogita Bhayana even stressed that she is "The most tragic case (rape) in history"

"This girl was tortured every day," he said, adding that police had failed to protect her. "We want strong action against all the guilty" concluded.

Rape is a scourge in India

According to the National Crime Records Bureau of India, More than 28.000 cases of alleged rape of women were reported in 2020 - about one every 18 minutes. Experts believe, however, that the actual number is much higher, as most sexual assaults are never reported by frightened victims.

However, the number of reported sexual assaults increased after the gang rape and murder of a schoolgirl in 2012 in the Indian capital, New Delhi, possibly due to the greater awareness of the issue since then. The outrage sparked by the case has helped overcome the embarrassment of the rape debate.

They were then introduced stricter penalties for perpetrators of sex crimes, but also legal reforms to speed up the trial of these cases. At the same time, the definition of rape was changed to include both anal and oral penetration.

Measures, however, that ultimately do not prevent men from continuing to satisfy their diseased sexual appetites in defenseless women of all ages. Last September, police arrested 33 men for the alleged gang rape of a 15-year-old in Maharashtra.

In another incident the same month, a woman was killed after being raped and attacked with a crowbar in Mumbai, while in August a 9-year-old girl was gang-raped and murdered in Delhi.
