King raped the baby and then shared the material with a network of pedophiles on the internet. King was found unconscious in his cell. He was taken to hospital, where he died two days later.

It was initially suspected that the man who shared the same cell with King may have been involved in his murder, since the moment he was found dead by the guards, he was wearing King's watch and he had blood on him.

The police do not believe that restrained is responsible for King's death.

Two suicide notes were found in King's cell while the details of the notes were not disclosed.
