Indonesia: The waves "swallow" concert spectators

Tough images from the deadly tsunami

Shocking video of the tsunami that swept across the islands of Java and Sumatra on Saturday night with the report so far speaks of 62 dead and hundreds injured.

The video was recorded by one of the employees of the state-owned company PLN who were in the Tanjung Lesung area to take part in the Christmas celebration.

As seen in the video while everyone is having fun to the sounds of the rock band Seventeen, suddenly the waves "swallow" first the band and then the spectators as the Indonesian authorities did not issue a tsunami warning as it was not caused by an earthquake but by a landslide that caused by the activity of the volcano Anak Krakatoa.

"The water swept the tent that was very close to the sea. The water swept everyone there. "We lost our loved ones, including our bassist and manager, while many are missing," the band said in a statement.

In a video posted a little later by the band singer on his personal Instagram account, he asks everyone to pray and help locate missing people, including his wife.
