The 29-year-old sprinter from Trinidad and Tobago Dion Ledor lost his life in a car accident in Texas.
Specifically, the 400-meter champion and Olympian was killed in an accident that took place under currently unknown circumstances.
The news of his death was announced by his compatriot and former sprint Olympian Ato Bolton.
Ledor had won the bronze medal with the 4x400m relay team of his homeland at the 2012 Olympics, as well as a silver medal with the same team at the 2015 Beijing World Championships.
It is worth noting that at the individual level he had won two bronze medals at the World Indoor Championships (2016, 2018).
