The 70-year-old, who was arrested at noon yesterday (10/1/2022) in Thessaloniki, was extorting money from those interested.

In detail, the arrest of a 70-year-old citizen - persecuted in the area of ​​Kalamaria, proceeded at noon yesterday (10-01-2022), after a methodical investigation, police officers of the Search Department of the Security Directorate of Thessaloniki.

The five-member Thessaloniki Criminal Court of Appeals was pending a verdict against the detainee, sentencing him to 5 years in prison for continuous and serial fraud and an attempt by a perpetrator to commit continuous and routine fraud. exceeds 30.000 euros, operations carried out in Thessaloniki from 2004 to 2014.

He also acted as an intermediary for the processing of pending issues related to driving licenses, without taking any action after receiving the money.

Finally, by convincing his victims to take out a loan for the purpose of alleged professional cooperation with them, he extracted the money from the loan.

From his illegal activity, he obtained the total amount of 47.657 euros, from 13 victims.

The arrested person will be taken to the competent judicial authorities.
