They moved at a speed of 30 kilometers per hour
In the city of Chongqing, China set a Guinness World Record for the largest "parade" of driverless cars when 55 vehicles drove to their destination. Specifically, each of the 55 SUVs covered a distance of 3,22 kilometers, with a speed of 30 kilometers per hour, and completed the route in 9 minutes and 7 seconds.
Initially, the Changan Automobiles used 56 cars, but the safety guide of a 56th car was rejected, as it regained control of the car in which it was riding for a short time.
According to the APE-MPE, the sensors of the cars that made up the convoy had been converted, in order to identify the boundaries of the lane on the highway and the cars that preceded it.
Also, in order to comply with the rules and break the Guinness Book of Records, proper adjustment had been made and cars were moving closer to each other than under normal driving conditions.
At the same time, since the "parade" took place in a quieter place than the normal lane of the motorway, their reaction rate was reduced from 1% to 5% in terms of locating objects and detecting unexpected events.
