A mother found her daughter again 14 years after her abduction at the age of six

The good news was announced by the police department of Clermont, Florida.

According to the press release, the police department on September 2 received a phone call from Angelica Vences-Salgado, who told authorities she had contacted her daughter, Jacqueline Hernandez, through social media.

Hernandez told her mother that she is at Mexico and asked her to meet at the U.S.-Mexico border in Laredo, Texas, on September 10.

Following a co-operation between the regional police department and the federal services, in order to examine the seriousness of the case and to establish the identity of the victim in this case, the meeting took place on the scheduled date.

"Based on the documentation provided by Angelica and Clermont Police, the woman was identified as Jacqueline Hernandez, who was abducted from her mother's home in 2007," the statement said.

Hernandez, now 19, is close with her mother and family again.

Police said the case was a "typical example" of what can happen when multiple agencies work together.

Together, the teams "were able to create a force multiplier and help reunite the victim with her mother after 14 years," said Police Chief Charles Broadway.
