Facebook CEO and co-founder Mark Zuckerberg has accepted the European Parliament's challenge and will appear before it in Brussels. Issues related to the protection of users' personal data in general and the scandal of the British company Cambridge Analytica in particular, which gained access to the data of 87 million Facebook users to promote President Trump's election campaign in the USA (and who knows what else…).

The date of the meeting, for which the President of the European Parliament Antonio Tagiani, expressed the hope that it will take place next week, has not been determined yet. "Our citizens deserve a full and detailed explanation. I welcome Mark Zuckerberg's decision to appear in person before the representatives of 500 million Europeans. "It's a step in the right direction to restore confidence," said the Italian politician. The meeting will be held in camera at a meeting of the Conference of Presidents of the European Parliament, which will be attended by the leaders of the eight European political groups.
